Applying for a loan in COSTA MESA

When purchasing a home, applying for a loan is very distressing for a lot of people, but it doesn't have to be. I have excellent relationships with many mortgage lenders in COSTA MESA, and they've helped me realize a few things that will make the process of applying for a loan effortless.

1 – Compose a list of questions about your loan program

Be sure to have a list of questions with you if you find that you do not thoroughly grasp the pros and cons of all the various loan programs. I or one of my lenders will be able to assist you with understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each program, because it can be a challenge to know the characteristics of both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages.

2 – Decide when to lock

When you lock in an interest rate, your lender is guaranteed to commit to the interest rates for the loan – often at the time the loan application is presented. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between the day of your loan application and closing. Those who elect to float think interest rates will drop in the near future. 3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to lower your interest rate

If you decide to pay additional points to lower the interest rate of your mortgage loan, you'll do so by paying for them in cash at closing. Each point is 1 percent of the loan. If you're uncertain if buying points is right for you, click here to use our points calculator.

4 – Gather your paperwork

Getting a mortgage loan requires a lot of paperwork, so you should spend some time getting all your documentation together. Click here to see normal information that goes on a loan application.
